At Pathony, the quality and integrity of every coaching relationship matters to us. That’s why Pathony coaches are guided by the ethical principles and professional standards published by the International Coaching Federation (ICF)*, a leading professional body for the coaching field.
These standards aren’t a formality.
They shape how our coaches show up in every session, how they handle your information, and how they protect your interests throughout your work together.
Our coaching practice draws on the ICF Code of Ethics* as a framework for responsible, client-centered coaching. When you work with a Pathony coach, you can expect that framework to be in place from the very first conversation.
Five commitments are in place from the very first conversation, and they hold across every session that follows.
Your conversations are private. Pathony coaches are committed to maintaining strict confidentiality about what you share, disclosing information only with your agreement or where there is a legal obligation to do so. Clear agreements about how your information is handled are established at the outset of the relationship.
Before the work begins, your coach will make sure you both have a shared understanding of what coaching is, what it isn’t, and what you can expect. This includes being transparent about the nature of the relationship, the responsibilities of each party, and the terms of working together. Coaching is distinct from consulting, therapy, or advice-giving, and our coaches are committed to being clear about that distinction.
Pathony coaches are committed to putting your growth and wellbeing first. That means recognizing the limits of their role, avoiding conflicts of interest, and referring you to other professionals when a need falls outside the scope of coaching. They will never knowingly mislead you or make promises that coaching cannot deliver.
Every coaching relationship is grounded in respect for you as an individual and includes your autonomy, your perspective, and your right to make your own decisions. Pathony coaches are committed to a non-judgmental, equitable approach that honors your unique context and goals.
The standards extend beyond individual sessions. Pathony coaches conduct themselves with honesty and integrity in all of their professional interactions, represent their experience accurately, and continually work to maintain and grow their competence as practitioners.
Coaching is a relationship built on trust. Why this matters
By aligning our coaching standards with a recognized, well-established ethical framework, we give you the confidence that your coaching experience is being delivered responsibly, with your interests, privacy, and growth at the center.
